Through the generosity of others, our family had the opportunity to go to Oahu, Hawaii in April of 2009. Although the Mormon temple there was under construction, we visited the beautiful grounds and visitor's center several times, where Dermont had been as a missionary years before.
We spoke with some of the missionaries there who explained why the street to the temple was named HALE LA'A. HALE LA'A means Holy House. The temple is a holy house of God, and the streets leading to this beautiful edifice annnounce it as such.
It is our family's desire to make our home a hale la'a; a bit of heaven on earth.
