Another Family Update:
Aimee received her Young Women medallion this month. She had everything finished a year or so ago, but when the new value, Virtue was added, she started to work on it and completed everything a few months ago. A is an amazing young woman and has made tremendous strides through implementing this program into her life; she is definitely a better person as a result. A also ran on Liberty's Cross Country team and is now on the school's gymnastics team. Go, Aim!
Remember those days of learning to drive?
We remember them well! This summer Aimee and Stacy earned the money and took Driver's Education. They passed with flying colors and are learning to be good drivers. They don't always get as many hours in as they would like, due to work and car schedules, however, they don't turn 16 for a few months.
Stacy is gearing up for the track season this year by getting some good runs in. She prefers sprinting VS long distance running. She has a great love for literature and would love to spend some time in Europe; perhaps England or Ireland are in her travel plans for the future....
Matthew looks forward to an internship next semester. He will be graduating in Social Work in 2-3 semesters. He has worked hard and is learning to be a great mechanic with the car he acquired this summer.
John is the third attending BYUI this semester, so he is preparing to move there in January. He is majoring in Communications and has set his sights on being a writer. His first book is in the works.
Emily has worked hard at two jobs, plus any daycare she is called for, to make enough to get through the next few semesters. Student teaching is only about 3 semesters away! She is off to a good start, and being a substitute Educational Assistant has been great experience.
Sarah is in a Science-Technology class this year and thoroughly enjoys it. The program is by random selection, so she's feeling pretty lucky to be in this impressively challenging class.
Lizzie loves second grade and is excited about everything. Reading and Math are favorite subjects for our eight year old. The highlight of this year for her was to become baptized. She is so happy about that!
M: I am still substitute teaching, hoping for permanent work, and looking into getting funding to work on that Master's degree ( M Ed in Reading).
D: Still with Boeing and working with 11 year old scouts, which is very fun.

On Saturday, November 28, Sarah and Lizzie participated in the Seattle Children's Marathon. They spent September, October, and November logging in 25+ miles of walking, running, and biking. The final 1.2 miles was the highlight of the marathon experience. They joined the participants and ran (with about 3,000 other children plus their parents) the blocks that surround the Space Needle. The children were allowed to have an adult run with them, so they had mom and dad run along, which was very fun. The crowd was so large we ran in the streets, and the pace was a comfortable jog the entire way around. Everyone had a great time, and there were several healthy snacks and prizes in the Victory Room. Lizzie was ready to sign up for 2010 that very same day! Does anyone want to join us next year?
